Measuring Yourself Against His Example
Hebrews 12:3 says: "Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
“Consider” here is an accounting term - like balancing your checkbook. It means comparing your life to His, not to match His perfection, but to gain perspective.
When faced with criticism, misunderstanding, or requests to surrender something - compare it to what He endured. Using Jesus as your standard keeps self-interest in check.
Call to Action: The next time you feel wronged or inconvenienced, pause and ask, “How does what I’m facing compare to what Jesus endured for me?”
