Finding God in the Margins

Jesus had a habit of showing up where others wouldn’t — in the margins, with the overlooked, the doubted, the dismissed.

Spiritual formation in secular spaces means we follow Him there. “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). We don’t wait for the marginalized to come to us; we go to them, in their spaces, on their terms.

When we meet people in the margins, we find that God’s kingdom is already at work in ways we might have missed from the center.

Call to Action: Take one step toward someone on the margins this week — a neighbor, coworker, or stranger — and extend the love of Christ.
