Praying for Others with Power

Intercession - praying for others - is one of the most selfless acts we can perform. It shifts our focus from ourselves to God’s work in someone else’s life.

1 Timothy 2:1 encourages us to make “petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving… for all people.” When we intercede, we stand in the gap, asking God to act on someone else’s behalf.

Practical Step: Pick three people - a friend, a family member, and someone who doesn’t know Jesus. Pray for them by name each day this week and look for ways God may lead you to encourage them.
